Nora Nora

Nora 1 and Helmer 1 as well as Nora 2 and Helmer 2 consciously identify with the protagonists of Ibsen’s Nora. The first two have only started their romantic relationship, whilst the other two are facing its inevitable end. The two couples live parallel lives in the same flat without being aware of each other. (They are, however, aware of parallel worlds, but only internal ones, not the external ones.) In Nora Nora, the parallel couples are what each sees as their “imaginary” partner that they would want to live with. But only until their wish comes true and the reality starts repeating. Now, the “imaginary” partners are those who have been real, and so on, until all the options are exhausted and the “giraffe” is beheaded forever. Both couples from Nora Nora realise that the illusion of an “ideal” partner was a mistake. Why this urge can never be fulfilled, is a fundamental question at the core of Nora Nora.
